Changing lives, constant help

National Library Week (April 13-19, 2014) is here again.  This year’s theme is “Lives change @ your library.”  It is a good time to honor our soon-to-be graduates.  After all, their lives are about to change.

The new graduates can get a USM alumni card and retain borrowing privileges.  They also get 50 ILLiad ( interlibrary loan) requests per year.  For complete information go to the library’s Alumni Cards and Non USM Cards page.

As I do each year, I’ll add to a growing list of information resources from outside of USM’s collection.  This year I’ll add the InfoMine collection (University of California, Riverside), which features scholarly materials in a variety of fields.   We librarians can help our newest alums find and use many such tools.

Though our graduates’ lives may change, the library’s willingness to serve remains constant.  On behalf of the libraries, congratulations and best wishes to our graduates!
