Halloween brings to mind skeletons, which in turn bring to mind anatomy class.    Anatomy.TV features detailed, medically accurate 3D images.  This database also has videos and animations.  It even includes quizzes and activities.

Halloween brings to mind pumpkins as well.  The USM libraries have a trial to Bloomsbury Food Library .  You can look up food customs of different countries in its Food Cultures of the World Encyclopedia.  You can search the overall contents for different foods–including pumpkin–or food-related topics.

I invite you to try these for yourselves.  I also invite you to explore the other new or trial databases.  You can find them on our A-Z databases page. Have a safe and happy Halloween!

P.S.  A representative from Primal Pictures (the company behind Anatomy.tv) will be on the Gorham campus Wednesday, November 8, and on the Portland campus Wednesday, November 15.  Please contact the USM libraries for more details.
