TRiO for help close at hand

If you see a student needing extra help in order to succeed, USM has a new program that may provide that help.  TRiO Student Support Services can help students:

  • Learn about scholarships & financial support for college
  • Keep the GPA up & stay in good academic standing
  • Meet their graduation goals
  • Take steps toward your career goals
  • Strengthen their study skills
  • Manage stress
  • Manage  time better*

USM students are eligible to apply to TRiO Student Support Services if they meet just one of the following criteria:

  1. Neither parent has graduated from a four year college
  2. Meet government income guidelines based on taxable income (currently $33,525 for a family of 4)
  3. Have a documented disability (physical, mental, learning disability, or ADD/ADHD)*

They can apply by contacting the TRiO advisor on their particular campus or by any of the ways listed here.  Then the extra help they need will be close at hand.
