If my recent images seem differently laid out, they are. I’m trying to apply one of the principles from my third session at the Sloan-C conference.
In this session John Brandt (Maine CITE program, University College) discussed some ways to make digital documents more usable for people with disabilities. Some of these tips (adequate font size, for example) stem from universal design concepts and apply to most documents. Others are designed to make a document more suited to accessibility software. My use of the caption setting falls into this category.
I still have much to learn on this topic. When and where I can do so, though, I hope to make this blog more accessible. I’m already thinking of what I can do in my LibGuides.
